Department of Labor Announces Grant Increment to Continue Assisting Florida Workers Affected by Layoffs

The U.S. Department of Labor today a $ 707,096 National Emergency Grant increment continue services to approximately 600 workers affected by the closure of the Taylor, Bean and Whitaker Mortgage Corp. and its subsidiaries. "As with all other members of the nation's workers who have lost their jobs through no fault of their own, it is important that impact mortgage industry workers in Florida receive our support, " said Labor Minister Hilda Solis L.. "The guarantee of these workers, the training and employment services needed to provide new jobs in promising industries access is the right thing for them to do their families and our economy as a whole."



On 13 January was awarded a grant in the amount of $ 1,661,173, with $ 954,077 released initially, to serve these workers in Citrus, Levy and Marion counties. The second and last increase was announced today as the first, the award at the Citrus Levy Marion Regional Workforce Development Board Inc.
